First, a little "back ground" information:
Forever Blowing Bubbles
It must be a pony-thing, this magnetic attraction — to submerse themselves in puddles and ponds. The pony I had when I was a kid could not cross a creek without throwing himself headlong into water. It was impossible to get him to his feet until he was thoroughly drenched and caked in sand.
For his part, Pippen has plunged into the deepest of streams even when employed in the capacity of pack pony.
On Freedom Rides, he seeks bodies of water in which to wallow. Once drenched, he ads as many layers of sand and mud as will stick to his soggy body. When he can find a river or lake deep enough, he launches an aquatic expedition.
Water events render him oblivious to all but his own self-absorbed glee.
