Last week, according the the Uncommon Wisdom article, "Chinese food giant Shuanghui International offered $4.8 billion to buy out Virginia-based Smithfield Foods (SFD), the largest pork producer in America." It has also
been "snatching up other foreign food producers:
- China National Cereals, Oils and Foodstuffs (Cofco) Corp. paid $140 million for Australian sugar producer Tully Sugar.
- Shanghai-based Bright Food bought Manassen Foods Australia for $522 million as well as U.K. cereal-maker Weetabix Food for about $1 billion."
May I remind you of the powerful words of Henry Kissinger:"If you control the oil you control the country; if you control food, you control the population"?
We are in danger of losing our large farms. We are also in danger of losing our small farms. The threats come from China. But they also come from the U.S. food policy.
If you eat and think, read F. William Engdahl’s book, Seeds of Destruction: The Hidden Agenda of Genetic Manipulation.
If we do not DEMAND that we have real food, then we will be sickened to death. If you will not be a voice in your Congressman's ear, then be a voice with your wallet. Buy from real farmers, farmers who "get" the crisis and are sacrificing more than you could possibly imagine to bring you real food. This year, the USDA required that every farm submit a detailed report of food assets-- acreage, animals... We have been tallied. We will be destroyed. Unless... Unless... YOU SPEAK NOW.
